Webinar Recap - How HR Leaders Navigate Recruitment and Employment during and post Covid-19
On May 20th 2020, Mazars Vietnam, Navigos Search and The Canadian Chamber of Commerce Vietnam organized a successful webinar "How HR Leaders Navigate Recruitment and Employment during and post Covid-19" attracting nearly 200 registrations.
During the webinar, attendees listened to panelists who are HR professionals possessing years of experience in Vietnam. They shared the difficulties that recruitment in Vietnam are facing, industries that are suffering losses and practical steps businesses are undertaking to recruit, motivate and develop employee engagement during Covid-19 crisis.
The HR professionals also discussed "Work from home" as a “new normal” that Heads of Human Resource are developing policies for and organizing a variety of engagement and morale activities for staff returning to work. Post Covid-19 period, these HR professionals shared, that under the current environment, companies are maintaining a hiring freeze and adapting to the evolving market conditions, not replacing people leaving the company and avoid laying off people. In the interim, new graduates or job seekers are encouraged to develop new skills, hard and soft, to give them better opportunities in a very challenging job market.

Decree 68 on the deductibility of interest expense
On 24 June 2020, the Government issued Decree No. 68/2020/NĐ-CP ("Decree 68") amending Clause 3, Article 8 of Decree No. 20/2017/ND-CP (“Decree 20”) with regard to the deductibility of interest expenses incurred by companies having related-party transactions. Following up, on 14 July 2020, the Ministry of Finance issued Official Letter No. 2835/TCT-TTKT ("OL 2835") providing further guidance on the application of Decree 68.
