The attendants include Mr. Le Manh Ha - Vice-President of Ho Chi Minh People’s Committee, Mr. Do Nhat hoang - Director of the Department of Foreign Investment, Mr. Herb Cochran – President of American Chamber of Commerce, Mrs. Nicola Connolly – Vice-President of European Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Yamaguchi Kimio – President of The Japan Business Association in Vietnam, Mr. Antony Nezic – Vice President of Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Park In Chi – Head of Supporting Business Office of Korean Chamber of Commerce, representatives of Tax Department, Industry and Trade Department, Labor and Welfare Service Department and approximately 150 representatives of businesses.
The purpose of the event was to provide businesses a chance to discuss with relevant officials about their concerns and the difficulties they are facing in doing business in Vietnam. In addition, the dialogue was expected to provide chambers an opportunity to raise their opinions about the investment environment and their recommendations for business development.

Mr. Le Manh Ha – Vice President of Ho Chi Minh People’s Committee – acknowledged that there were particular issues that needed to be improved. The government and the ministries were keen to support business to solve their problems and improve the investment environment. In the near future, the Investment and Trade Promotion Center will cooperate with the related departments and the chambers of commerce in Ho Chi Minh City to establish group of specialists to solve problems associated with foreign investment.
Mr. Do Nhat Hoang – Head of Department of Foreign Investment – informed that in October 2013, Ministry of Planning and Investment will continue to coordinate with the Ministry of Finance and other ministries and departments in order to complete the draft of Decree amending and supplementing the Decree 108/2006/ND-CP to guide the implementation of the Investment Law. This is expected to have an important impact on various issues such as, the decentralization of foreign investment projects and transparency and to improve the attraction of Vietnam as an investment environment.
