During the webinar, attendees listened to panelists share some aspects regarding signs of recovery after the pandemic. In particular, Mr. Ralf Matthaes, Managing Director of Infocus Mekong Research shared that in, before Covid-19, the biggest concern was environmental pollution; but in March 2020 the biggest fear from businesses is now disease outbreak, in accordance with a recent report, and the negative impacts of Covid-19 on their business.
Mr. Nguyen Hai Minh, Tax and Legal Partner at Mazars Vietnam mentioned supporting policies for businesses from the government to push the domestic market during and post Covid-19. In addition, he mentioned about benefits of the recent trade deal between the EU and Vietnam. The biggest benefit is Vietnam can access the capital and technology of European businesses. In the long term, small and medium enterprises can connect to the supply chain which is led by European businesses.
Lastly, Mr. Neil MacGregor, Managing Director of Savills Vietnam showed some key economic indices impacted by Covid 19 including trend on retail, office market, hotel demand impact. He also remarks benefits from high tech accelerate relocation wave from China to Vietnam after Covid-19.
