On 31 July 2012, a full day seminar on the business environment for Korean Enterprises in Vietnam was held at Sheraton Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City. The Seminar was a join initiative by the Korea Chamber of Commerce (“Kocham”), Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (“Kotra”), and Mazars. The seminar attracted around 150 participants including CEO and CFO of the Korean enterprises.
The Seminar focused on trademarks registration, economy and investment prospects, and legal aspects and taxation in Vietnam. Mr. Seung Ha Park, Partner of Mazars Korea discussed financial reporting under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs), followed by a talk on Vietnamese Legal, Tax and Transfer Pricing by Mr. Nguyen Hai Minh, Partner in Mazars Vietnam. These two presentations were very received. The audience were particularly interested in local regulations on investment, tax policy, accounting, labour, and foreign exchange control, etc. and actively requested opinion and advice on a number of live situations.
This Seminar was a perfect opportunity for Korean enterprises to meet and share experiences in doing business in Vietnam and to strengthen relationships with their contacts, such as Mazars, a global leading audit and consulting firm.
